  • Hello Michael and Armone,

Facebook is making their policy very strict in relation to USER_LIKES permissions.
We have partners that got it approved in the past but this is getting more and more complex nowadays, even with the latest login flows that have been released for lead users in the last few days.

We are going to design a new login flow that DOES NOT NEED USER_LIKES permission, showing the page with the LIKE button and "remembering" who did like in the past with no need to ask Facebook.

The new page should be live by the next week.

We are really working hard to leverage what Facebook has to offer and in relation to LIKES this is where we can go.

    • Hello Sebastiano,

I am guessing you prompt all users for a "like" as you have no way of knowing if they have liked the fanpage or not. Once they have "liked" the fanpage I guess you track the action in your system so as not to prompt again. If they dont give a "like" you simply keep re-prompting at set times. However, its a simple action to "unlike" a fanpage thus removing any advantage of having a "like" in the first place.

What happens if the user already "likes" the fanpage as you can only "like" a fanpage once ?
    • Hello wired4net,

your analysis is perfect. You got it all.
we are glad to have so smart users :) also partners anytime soon?

Liking the fanpage twice is not an issue thanks to our secret sauce. If you'd like to enter into details, let's have a quick chat over Skype. Drop me an email at sebastiano.bertani@thiscompanydomain.com

  • Hello Samiullah,

USER_LIKES permission is not needed in order to request likes via Splash Page.

Tanaza enables asking for LIKES with no need to request such permission, so you get a WiFi Social Hotspot than enables you to get likes out-of-the-box.

    Cheers
